Beliefs

Anchor 1

Child First

I believe that it is all about the children. They are THE major stakeholders in their education and they should be the focus of all educational decisions made. Our students are active participants in their education and we want to empower them, protect their curiosity and joy, and meet their diverse needs.

Inquiry

I believe that inquiry is a natural, powerful way to learn, and that a workshop model, combined with high-yield instruction, allows students to develop their own voice and choice.

Collaboration

I believe that collaboration is the cornerstone of professional growth. When teachers collaborate together, students and teachers benefit. It is important that teachers have a growth-mindset, and that they believe that together, they can affect change and make a difference.

Language

I believe that developing a rich, robust vocabulary through a language-rich environment is important for success in our world.  Students who have rich vocabularies can become skillful communicators, empathetic listeners, imaginative writers, and debaters of important topics. Teachers who celebrate words and utilize large vocabularies are helping students develop a life-long love of language.
